June
After months of daydreaming
of basking in warmth
Summer finally seeps into
Our winter wonderland
Just a few more weeks before exams end
And we CANNONBALL dive
Into temperate freedom
July
The absolute zero temperature of frozen glaciers shifts
They melt
into soft, cool arms of a lake that caress the mountain side
Embrace the heat-ridden humans, too used to snow
Seeking refuge from the beautiful, blazing but boiling hot sun
August’s
Freshly cut grass smells like
Tumbling down these hill when we were kids
Remembering that we still are
Remembering there’s no rush to grow up
Remembering, when I take your hand in mine
That our youth, like the whispers of the Rockies’ mountain wind
Is eternal
